September has been very busy..
So, I’ve been back in Berlin now for almost 3 months after taking 10 months off to work-travel. And crikey, what a time it has been! There’s been so much happening recently, and we’re in the middle of conference season too. Here’s just a list of stuff I’ve written or been involved in the last few weeks, partially for me to keep track of it all, and partially in case any of you all find some of it useful.
- Published a chapter in the book 52 more things you should know about Paleontology
- Wrote editorial for Editorial Office News on The Dark Side of Peer Review
- For Peer Review Week, co-wrote a piece for the LSE Impact Blog entitled We have the technology to save peer review – now it’s time for our communities to implement it
- Gave a talk at the University of Birmingham, also for Peer Review Week, entitled What do penguins have to do with peer review?
- Gave another talk in Athens at the Open Science Fair about Barriers to Open Science for Early Career Researchers
- Gave a webinar with Altmetric on Managing your reputation as a researcher
- Co-led a workshop on Open Access for the Max Planck Society Symposium for Alumni and Early Career Researchers
- Hit 30 publications for paleorXiv – not bad for the first month!
- Quoted in this piece for Science Magazine on the STM Association taking on ResearchGate (more to come on this..)
